Originally constructed in 1897, the building was moved to the estate and carefully restored. Its heart-pine walls, barrel ceiling, bell tower and historic bronze bell give it a character that cannot be recreated in a newly built ballroom.
It gives couples an indoor ceremony option that still feels personal and connected to the history of the property.
The chapel could also provide a valuable alternative when Florida weather makes an outdoor ceremony difficult. Ask the venue how the chapel fits your expected guest count and whether it can serve as your primary ceremony location or weather backup.
A lakeside gazebo ceremony
Couples who prefer an outdoor ceremony can consider the estate’s gazebo.
The gazebo sits beside the lake near one of the property’s fountains and is shaded by established trees. The elevated structure allows guests to see the ceremony clearly while creating a natural focal point for flowers and other décor.
The surrounding water, greenery and open sky can create a romantic ceremony setting as well as several portrait opportunities after the vows.

Before booking, ask the venue how the Tavern will be arranged for your expected guest count. You should also ask about the dance floor, catering setup, décor rules and the amount of time allowed for setup and cleanup.

Getting ready and staying on the property
The Estate on the Halifax includes Agatha’s Guesthouse, a riverfront residence with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. The venue says the house can accommodate up to six overnight guests.
An on-site house can make the beginning of the wedding day feel more relaxed. You can keep personal belongings in one location, avoid unnecessary transportation and allow extra time for candid photographs before the ceremony.
If both partners plan to get ready on the estate, ask which spaces will be available to each of you. Consider the available window light, room size and distance from the ceremony location when making that decision.
Your getting-ready spaces do not need to follow traditional gender labels. Use the rooms in whichever way makes the most sense for you, your wedding party and the flow of the day.
